It’s been over 10 years since we last visited Kruger National Park in South Africa. It was the perfect way to celebrate our 50th birthdays. So, now we are ready to head back to South Africa for an enhanced ten-week journey.
I’m sure many of you are thinking that it’s a bit risky to be traveling – especially to Africa! Yes, we know and we have thought long and hard about this adventure. However, our lives were forever changed when our son died in 2020 and we really need to move forward. Planning and preparing for a trip like this certainly helps occupy our time and gives us a future to plan for instead of living in grief. Garett would want us to move forward, virus or no virus, it’s time.
Last time we stayed in the northern part of Kruger in a camp called The Outpost. It was a great adventure full of wildlife, an amazing staff and so many birds that were native to SA and many winter migratory birds from Europe. This adventure, we will begin at the South entrance and work our way north – spending 26 days exploring all that this park has to offer.
Below you will find some highlight pics of our previous adventure. As I look over the images, I have to laugh at the quality of the pictures. We thought that we had a great camera and are looking forward to some even better photos with Jeff’s new mirrorless camera.
